KOREAN STYLE SHORT RIBS (CROCK POT)
I'm always looking for new recipes to make in my crock pot. Here's another easy and tasty one. I finally got around to making this I used pork spare ribs. I cooked them longer till they were falling off the bone. The sauce has a very good flavor. My husband was pleasantly surprised at the flavor.I found this in Family Circle Magazine.

DARK BEER BRAISED BEEF SHORT RIBS (CROCK POT)
Adapted from a recipe by Fabio Viviani. Reducing the quart of beef stock to 1 1/2 cups is not included in prep time and a must for a good depth of flavor. A good stout beer is also a must for this recipe, I use Guinness extra stout. Boneless or bone on ribs can be used for this recipe. I have stated 8 hours for cooking time but that will depend on your crock pot, with mine the bone on ribs were almost done at the 6 hour mark so I turned the warm cycle on and let simmer for 2 more hours, they were perfect.

CROCK POT HONEY-MUSTARD BBQ SHORT RIBS OR POT ROAST
This is so easy to put together, and great served with cooked noodles. I have many crock pot recipes that I have collected over the years, and this is one of them, hope you enjoy! Please adjust amounts to taste. Double the sauce amount if using more than 3 pounds of beef. Add in a sliced onion also if desired. This will also work well with a small beef blade roast, you might want to brown the roast firstly before adding to the crock pot and double the sauce amount, cook until the roast is fork-tender.

CROCK POT ASIAN-STYLE SHORT RIBS
Very tender chunks of meat with a great Asian flavor that will melt in your mouth. Not too spicy, but you can add more pepper if you like it hotter. You can buy five-spice powder, a spice much like star anise, in most Oriental markets. Goes great with rice and steamed or stir-fried veggies for a nice Asian meal.

Steps:
- In a big bowl, mix together flour, salt, pepper and onion powder (if you use a fresh onion put it in with the liquid instead).
- Dredge the ribs in the mixture and then assemble in an aluminum foil pan with a bit of oil. Broil in the oven until they are browned.
- While you're browning - mix together all the other ingredients (fresh onion if applicable) using a wire whisk.
- Peel and cube potatoes and arrange them in the bottom of the crock pot - season with salt.
- When meat is browned, place on top of the potatoes and pour the liquid mixture over it.
- Cook for 6 hours on high - or longer on low.
- During the last 2 hours or so, mix it up.
- During the last hour - mix it again and put in the mushrooms.
- When the crock is done cooking - remove meat; remove potatoes. Use Flour - 1 tbsp at a time to make the gravy smooth and thick - depending on how much liquid you have you'll need to keep adding the flour until smooth (I use a wire whisk and do this directly in the crock pot).
- Serve the potatoes and meat in separate plates with the gravy on the side.
- As an aside, the gravy is really delicious so you could omit the potatoes from the crock pot and do mashed potatoes instead.
- I do NOT use carrots because their taste contaminates everything in the crock pot and makes everything taste like carrots.
- I do NOT use a fresh onion because the flavour is sometimes too overpowering.

- In measuring cup, pour boiling water over porcini mushrooms; let stand for 20 minutes. Strain, reserving liquid. I like to strain the liquid through a paper towel lined sieve, because of the sand in the liquid from the mushrooms. Set mushrooms and liquid aside.

- In skillet, heat oil over medium high heat; sauté porcini and button mushrooms, onions, garlic, carrots, rosemary, salt and pepper until softened, 5 minutes. Scrape into slow cooker. Add tomatoes.
- Whisk together soaking liquid, wine and tomato paste; pour into slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours or until meat is tender. Skim off fat.
