  • Serve over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.

1/4 large onion (julienned)
1 (6 ounce) can sliced mushrooms (drained)
1/2 cup shiitake mushroom (julienned)
1/4 cup chopped chives
1 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon minced garlic paste
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup beef broth or 1/4 cup bouillon
1/4 cup white wine
1/4 cup flour
cooked rice
fresh parsley sprig

Steps:

  • Place steak, onion, mushrooms, and chives in bottom of crock pot.
  • Add pepper, garlic, Worcestershire, broth, and wine.
  • Cover and cook on low for 5 - 6 hours.
  • Approximately one-half hour prior to serving, thoroughly mix in flour.
  • Serve over rice and top with parsley sprig.

1 lb boneless beef round steak, cut one inch thick
2 medium onions, sliced
8 ounces of fresh whole mushrooms
1 (12 ounce) jar beef gravy
1/4 cup dry red wine or 1/4 cup apple juice

Steps:

  • Trim fat from meat.
  • Cut meat into 4 serving-size pieces.
  • In a 3 1/2 to 4 quart slow cooker place onion slices.
  • Arrange mushrooms over onions; add beef.
  • Stir together gravy and wine or apple juice.
  • Pour over beef.
  • Cover and cook on low heat setting for 8 to 10 hours or on high heat setting for 4 to 5 hours.
  • Excellent served with mashed potatoes and a salad.
