2.5 pound bone-in pork shoulder (sometimes labeled as a "Boston butt" or "pork butt")
15oz can whole berry cranberry sauce (or half of this homemade cranberry sauce recipe)
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup dried minced onion

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in your slow cooker and cook on "low" setting for 6-8 hours or until pork shreds easily with a fork.
  • Remove bones and shred meat.

1 boneless rolled pork loin roast (3 to 4 pounds), halved
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 can (14 ounces) whole-berry cranberry sauce
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup cranberry juice
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
Salt to taste

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, brown roast in oil on all sides over medium-high heat. Transfer to a 5-qt. slow cooker. Combine the cranberry sauce, sugar, cranberry juice, mustard, pepper and cloves; pour over roast., Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the meat is tender. Remove roast and keep warm., In a saucepan, combine cornstarch, water and salt until smooth; stir in cooking juices. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. 1 boneless pork shoulder roast (4 to 6 pounds)
1/3 cup cranberry juice
1 teaspoon salt
SAUCE:
1 can (14 ounces) whole-berry cranberry sauce
1 cup ketchup
1/3 cup cranberry juice
3 tablespoons brown sugar
4-1/2 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground chipotle pepper
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke, optional
14 hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • Cut roast in half. Place in a 4-qt. slow cooker. Add cranberry juice and salt. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours or until meat is tender., Remove roast and set aside. In a small saucepan, combine the cranberry sauce, ketchup, cranberry juice, brown sugar, seasonings and liquid smoke if desired. Cook and stir over medium heat until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes., Skim fat from cooking juices; set aside 1/2 cup juices. Discard remaining juices. When cool enough to handle, shred pork with 2 forks and return to slow cooker., Stir in sauce mixture and reserved cooking juices. Cover and cook on low about 1 hour or until heated through. 1 cup sweetened dried cranberries
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 teaspoon shredded orange peel
1/2 cup cranberry juice cocktail
2 tablespoons cornstarch

Steps:

  • Place pork roast in 3 1/2 to 4-quart slow cooker.
  • In small bowl, combine cranberries, broth, orange peel and 1/4 cup of the cranberry juice cocktail; mix well. Pour over roast.
  • Cover; cook on low setting for 7 to 9 hours.
  • To serve, place roast on serving platter; cover with foil to keep warm. Pour juices from slow cooker into medium saucepan; if necessary, skim off any fat.

1 (1 1/2-pound) boneless pork loin roast
1 (16 ounce) can jellied cranberry sauce
¼ cup white sugar
½ cup cranberry juice
1 teaspoon dry mustard
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
salt to taste
2 tablespoons cold water
2 tablespoons cornstarch

Steps:

  • Place pork roast in a slow cooker. Mash cranberry sauce in a bowl; stir in sugar, cranberry juice, mustard, cloves, and salt. Pour cranberry mixture over pork roast.
  • Cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours. Transfer roast to a plate; cover and keep warm.
  • Skim fat from cranberry mixture in slow cooker. Measure 2 cups of cranberry mixture, adding water if necessary. Pour into saucepan and bring to a boil. 2 tbsp olive oil
1.5kg piece pork shoulder
250ml white wine
250ml chicken stock
4 bay leaves
2 sprigs of rosemary
1 tsp black peppercorns
1 garlic bulb

Steps:

  • Remove the fat from the pork shoulder (you can get your butcher to do this bit for you). Season the pork with salt and pepper then heat the oil in a large frying pan over a medium to high heat. Brown the pork shoulder on all sides then transfer to a slow cooker. Add all the other ingredients, then cook on low for 6-8 hours until the meat pulls apart when pressed with two forks.
  • Remove the meat, place on a plate and shred it with two forks. Remove the herbs from the sauce and squeeze the garlic cloves out of their skins back into the pot. Put the meat back into its sauce for wonderfully tender and moist slow cooker pork. Serve as an alternative to your Sunday roast with roasted new potatoes, or with a big green salad, mustard and warmed baguettes.

2-1/2 lb boneless pork shoulder roast
1 c sweetened dried cranberries
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp cloves........optional
1/4-1/2 tsp sugar........white or brown
1/2 c cranberry juice cocktail
1/2 c chicken broth.. 100% fat free canned chicken broth with 33% less salt
2 Tbsp corn starch

Steps:

  • 1. Plug in crockpot. Turn on high...to heat. Rinse and trim pork of fat. Get ready to steel yourself...for a culinary experience!
  • 2. Combine them beautiful red dried cranberrie babies,the chicken broth and cranberry juice cocktail into a small bowl. Mix well. If you want to add a bit of sweetness, throw in a few raisens. NOTE:Left over cranberry juice goes very well over ice cubes in a tall glass. Adding vodka...is your option! Grandma always said... "WASTE NOT..WANT NOT"..........tee hee

I've seen many recipes using canned cranberry sauce, but I much prefer fresh ingredients. I like to leave the fat on the roast while cooking, but then reduce the fat content of the gravy by chilling the cooked roast overnight. Once chilled, I remove the congealed fat that has all floated to the top before straining the juices to make my gravy. My husband says this is the best pork roast ever! Very tender and tasty with a slightly sweet sauce.

3 -4 lbs pork loin roast
salt and pepper
1 cup chopped fresh cranberries
1/4 cup honey
1 orange, juice and rind of
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
3 sweet potatoes, peeled, left whole
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour

Steps:

  • Trim excess fat from roast. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place in slow cooker.
  • In a small bowl, combine cranberries, honey, orange juice & rind, and spices; pour over roast.
  • Place whole, peeled sweet potatoes on top of roast.
  • Cover and cook on LOW 8 hours.
  • Remove sweet potatoes and roast from cooker.
  • Strain juices.
  • Melt butter in skillet, add flour, stir to combine and cook on medium heat to warm. Slowly whisk in strained juices. Cook over medium heat until thickened to gravy.
  • Whip sweet potatoes, adding butter and orange juice for moisture. Bake or broil until hot. Serve with roast.
