5 granny smith apples
1/2 c dried cranberries or cherries or raisins
1/2 c chopped walnuts
1 c orange juice, fresh
1/2 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp allspice, ground
1 pkg refrigerated pie crust
6 Tbsp butter half cut into small pieces half melted

Steps:

  • 1. Slice peeled apples into a bowl with the orange juice. Let soak for fifteen minutes. Drain
  • 2. mix the rest of the ingredients into apples and pour into pie shell.Top with 1 half cut up butter.
  • 3. Add top crust and flute edges.Brush with remainder of melted butter then cut vents and bake till the crust is golden brown. About 50 minutes

Got this pie out of Grandmas recipes its right in season, a little tart but can be sweetened up with some vanilla ice-cream. Hope you like it.

3/4 cup(s) sugar
3 tablespoon(s) cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
3/4 cup(s) light corn syrup
1/4 cup(s) water
1 1/2 cup(s) raw cranberries
2 teaspoon(s) orange peel (zest)
1 1/2 cup(s) chopped peeled apples
2 tablespoon(s) butter
- pastry for 2 crust pie

Steps:

  • Mix sugar, cornstarch, and salt in saucepan; gradually add corn syrup and water.
  • Cook stirring constantly until mixture thickens slightly.
  • Add cranberries and continue cooking until skins break, add orange peel(zest); cool.
  • Add apples to cranberry mixture and turn into pastry. lined pie pan. Dot with butter. Adjust top crust, flute edges; cut vents.
  • Bake in hot oven(425) degrees for 40-50 minutes.

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened*
1 cup whipping cream
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (16-ounce) can whole cranberry sauce, divided
1 Keebler® Ready Crust® shortbread pie shell

Steps:

  • 1. Chill small mixing bowl. In large mixing bowl beat cream cheese on medium speed of electric mixer until fluffy. Set aside.2. In chilled bowl beat whipping cream, sugar and vanilla on medium speed of electric mixer until soft peaks form. Beat whipped cream mixture into cream cheese.3. Reserve 2 tablespoons of cranberries for garnish. Fold remaining cranberry sauce into cream mixture. Spread in crust. Freeze at least 2 hours or until firm.4. Let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes before cutting. Garnish with reserved cranberries.*NOTE: Soften cream cheese in microwave at high for 15 to 20 seconds.
