CINNAMON-APPLE WREATH

Adorn your door with this festive holiday wreath and welcome your guest with apples, cinnamon spice and everything nice.

6 small apples, 2 1/2 inches in diameter
Lemon juice or Lemon-lime soda pop
Wire rack
Spray varnish, if desired
6 cinnamon sticks, 10 inches long
Straw wreath, 10 inches in diameter
2 yards 3/4-inch ribbon or 8 (3 1/2-inch) cinnamon sticks
Glue gun and glue sticks
Silk leaves

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 200°F. Cut apples lengthwise from stem end through core into 1/4-inch slices. Dip apples into lemon juice to prevent browning; place on wire racks. Carefully place wire racks on oven rack. Bake 4 hours.
  • Remove wire racks from oven and place on heatproof surface. Let apples stand about 2 hours or until completely dry. Place dried apples on waxed paper. Coat each side with 2 light coats of spray varnish, following manufacturer's directions.
  • Tie 10-inch cinnamon sticks together. Attach to front of wreath with 6 inches of the ribbon. Glue dried apple slices and 3 1/2-inch cinnamon sticks to front and side of wreath, using glue gun. Attach leaves to ribbon on 10-inch cinnamon sticks. Make a bow with the remaining ribbon, and attach to wreath. Attach wire hanger if desired.

I use to buy a X-mas wreath every year, but then a few years I found this idea & others. Now every year I make new ones for halloween, thanksgiving & other holidays. Brings out a warm apple cinnamon smell throw out the whole house.

6 small apples, sliced 2-1/2 inches pieces
1 lemon juice or lemon-lime soda
1 wire rack
1 spray varnish
6 cinnamon sticks, 10 inches long
1 straw wreath, 10 inches
2 yards 3/4 inch ribbon
1 glue gun & glue stick
1 bunch slik leaves

Steps:

  • 1. First pre-heat the oven to 200F. Then cut the apples lengthwise from the stem end through the core into 1/4 inch slices. Then dip the apples into the lemn juice or soda to prevent browning. Then place on wire racks. Then carefully place wire racks on the oven racks. Bakefor about 4 hours.
  • 2. Next remove the wire rack from the oven & place on a heatproof surface. Then let the apples standfor about 2 hours or until fully dry. Then place the dried apples on waxed paper. Then coat each side with 2 light coatsof the varnish, following the manufacturer's directions.
  • 3. Then tie the 10 inch cinnamon sticks together & attach to the front of the wreath with 6 inches of the ribbon. The glue the dried apple slices & 3 1/2- inch cinnamon sticks to the front & side of the wreath using the glue gun. Then attach the leaves to the ribbon on 10 inch cinnamon stick. Then make a bow with the remaining ribbon & glue to the top.
  • 4. Then attach wire hanger if you wish to hang n door or wall.

APPLE CINNAMON BISCUIT WREATH RECIPE

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/4 cup cinnamon and sugar mixture
16 biscuits, refrigerated big biscuits with flaky layers.
16 tbsp apple pie filling from can
1 tbsp coconut oil to grease bundt pan and spray with cooking spray
1 tbsp green sugar sprinkles
4 maraschino cherries split in half
Frosting
4 tbsp butter
1 tbsp milk
1/4 tsp vanilla
1 cup powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees 1. Remove apple pie filling contents from the can. 2. Blend until smooth with a hand blender. 3. Lay all 16 biscuits out on a flat surface and spread about 1 tbsp apple pie filling across all 16 biscuits. 4. Grease bundt pan. 5. Stack all biscuits into the bundt pan stacked around the center hole of the pan standing on their side. 6. Sprinkle biscuits with 1/4 cup of the cinnamon and sugar mixture 7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown 8. Make the frosting towards the end of the baking period. 9. Remove from the over and let cool for 10-15 minutes. 10.Run butter knife around outside and inside edges of the bundt pan to ensure bread is loosened from the edges. 11.Turn upside down on serving plate and wiggle to get pan to release. 12. Drizzle and spread frosting across warm biscuits so that the frosting drips down the sides. 13.Sprinkle with 1 tbsp green sugar sprinkles and add maraschino slices. Frosting 1. Melt 4 tbsp butter and add 1 tsp milk, 1/4 tsp vanilla and 1 cup powdered sugar. 2. Blend with an electric hand mixer until smooth.
