8 medium apples
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
1 stick butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Peel apples. Cut into thin slices or core and cut into very thin rounds.
  • Place a layer of apples in bottom of buttered 9x13' dish. Mix sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs and sugar mixture.
  • Cut butter into very thin pats and arrange over top of dish.
  • Bake for 35 to 50 minutes until apples are browned. Serve warm with ice cream.

2 apples, diced
1 teaspoon white sugar
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Place apples in a microwave-safe bowl; heat in microwave for 30 seconds. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over apples and stir to coat. Heat apples in microwave until soft and warm, about 1 minute more.

Known in our family as "Candied Apple Slices," these stovetop cinnamon apples are always a hit -- and there are never any leftovers! All you need are 4 simple ingredients to make one of the best side dishes of all time!

3 Apples
1 cup water
1 cup white sugar
2 tsp cinnamon (as needed)

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan or deep skillet bring your water and sugar to a simmer while you prepare the apples.
  • Peel your apples. I cut the apples into four quarters and then remove the core. Then I cut each quarter into three or four slices.
  • Once the water is simmering, carefully add a single layer of apples to the water and sugar. You don't have to do too much to them after they are in the water.
  • Check at the 10 minute mark. You can turn the apple slices over if they aren't done yet.
  • After 15 or 20 minutes, the apple slices will look translucent and be cooked all the way through.
  • Lift them out of the sauce with a slotted spoon and put them in your serving dish.
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • Add another layer of apples to the water and sugar mixture and cook as before.
  • When these are done, lift them out with a slotted spoon and add to the apples in the serving dish.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon on the top.
  • Refrigerate any leftovers and enjoy later.

1 cup rolled oats
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup margarine, softened
8 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced, or more to taste
¼ cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Roll cinnamon rolls onto a work surface to desired thickness; press into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Mix oats, brown sugar, flour, 1 tablespoon cinnamon, and salt on a bowl; add margarine and mix until crumbly.

1 tube (12.4 ounces) refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
FILLING:
5 cups thinly sliced peeled tart apples (about 5 medium)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
TOPPING:
1/3 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons cold butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°. Refrigerate icing from cinnamon rolls. Separate cinnamon rolls; press onto bottom and up the sides of an ungreased 9-in. deep-dish pie plate. Bake 7-9 minutes or until set. Cool on a wire rack. Reduce oven setting to 350°., For filling, in a large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice. In a small bowl, mix sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add to apple mixture; toss to coat. Pour filling into prepared crust., For topping, in a small bowl, mix cracker crumbs, brown sugar and flour; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over filling. Bake 40-45 minutes or until filling is bubbly and topping is golden brown. Cover top loosely with foil during the last 15 minutes if needed to prevent overbrowning. Remove foil.
