Apple cobbler is easier to make than ever with a little help from the slow cooker and Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ cake mix!

6 cups sliced peeled apples
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ yellow cake mix (dry)
1/2 cup cold butter, cut into cubes
Whipped cream, if desired

Steps:

  • Spray large slow cooker with cooking spray. Add apple slices, sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of the cinnamon; toss.
  • In large bowl, mix dry cake mix and remaining 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Cut in butter with pastry blender or two knives until size of small peas. Dump on top of apple mixture.
  • Cover; cook on High heat setting 2 1/2 to 3 hours or until fruit is bubbling and cobbler topping is light golden brown. Serve immediately with whipped cream.

4 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
1 cup water
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons cornstarch
¼ cup fructose (fruit sugar)
1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ cup canola oil
1 tablespoon honey
½ cup lowfat buttermilk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F ( 190 degrees C).
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the apples, water, cinnamon, cornstarch and fructose. Cook until apples are soft and mixture is thickened, about 10 minutes.
  • Pour the apple mixture into a casserole dish.
  • Prepare biscuit dough by combining the whole-wheat pastry flour and baking powder. Add the oil and stir until well mixed. Add the honey and buttermilk; stir with a fork until flour mixture is moist. Add additional milk if necessary.
  • Drop biscuit dough by tablespoons on top of apples. Bake for 20 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown. Serve warm.

¼ cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
1 pinch salt
1 box yellow cake mix
1 cup chopped pecan
½ cup butter, cut into slices

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 350ºF (180ºC).
  • In a cast-iron skillet over medium-low heat, add the apples, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, spices, and salt.

1 (540 ml) can apple pie filling
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 (325 g) package cinnamon rolls with icing

Steps:

  • Spoon apple filling into a greased 8-inch round baking dish. Stir in cinnamon. Bake, uncovered, at 375F for 15-20 minutes or until filling is hot.
  • Separate rolls and place over hot filling. Return to oven for 20-25 minutes.
  • Cool 5 minutes.

1 3 lb. bag of tart apples, peeled , cored and thinly sliced
3/4 c sugar
1 tsp apple pie spice, or pumpkin pie spice
2 c flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 c shortening
1 c milk
1/4 c butter or margarine
1 c confectioners or regular sugar ( i used granulated )
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Steps:

  • 1. Mix sugar and cinnamon with apple slices and set aside. If you don't have tart apples, use less sugar.
  • 2. Mix flour, 2 tbs sugar, baking powder , 1/2 tsp cinnamon and salt. mix in shortening mix in milk well
  • 3. spray baking dish, with cooking spray. place 1/2 of dough in pan, wet fingertips with cold water and spread over bottom of pan.
  • 4. place sugared apples on batter, dallop rest of dough over top, I packed apples down a little. wet fingers again and spread dough over top of apples
  • 5. Bake in preheated 450 degree oven for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown mix sugar and butter and another 1/2 tsp cinnamon together in a small bowl, spread over top crust
  • 6. turn oven down to 350 degrees. bake 15 minutes.
  • 7. remove from oven and let cool.
  • 8. Run to the store for some vanilla ice cream !!
  • 9. NOTE* The size pan I used is larger than an 8 x8 x it is 10 x 5 oval.
