6 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (8 ounces each)
6 slices fully cooked ham
6 slices Swiss cheese
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup canola oil
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted
1/2 cup chicken broth
Chopped fresh parsley, optional

Steps:

  • Flatten each chicken breast half to 1/4-in. thickness; top with ham and cheese. Roll up and tuck in ends; secure with toothpicks. , In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, cheese, sage, paprika and pepper; coat chicken on all sides. In a large skillet, brown chicken in oil over medium-high heat. , Transfer to a 5-qt. slow cooker. Combine soup and broth; pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until chicken is tender. Remove toothpicks. Garnish with parsley if desired. Freeze option: Cool chicken mixture. Freeze in freezer containers. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Heat through slowly in a covered skillet, stirring occasionally, until a thermometer inserted in chicken reads 165°.

6 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 5 oz each)
3 thin slices (3/4 oz each) deli ham, cut in half
3 slices (1 oz each) Swiss cheese, cut in half
1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed cream of celery soup
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon parsley flakes
1 teaspoon marinade for chicken (white Worcestershire sauce) or regular Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Spray 3- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Between pieces of plastic wrap or waxed paper, place each chicken breast smooth side down; beginning in center of breast, gently pound with flat side of meat mallet or rolling pin until about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Place 1/2 ham slice and 1/2 cheese slice on each breast. Roll up, folding in sides. Place rolls, seam sides down, in single layer in slow cooker. In medium bowl, mix remaining ingredients; spoon over chicken.
  • Cover; cook on Low heat setting 3 hours 30 minutes to 4 hours 30 minutes.
  • Remove rolls from cooker to cutting board. Beat sauce in cooker with wire whisk until smooth. Spoon about 1/3 cup sauce onto each of 6 plates. Cut each roll crosswise into thin slices; arrange on sauce.

6 - chicken breast halves, skinless and boneless
6 slice(s) swiss cheese
6 slice(s) canadian bacon or thinly sliced ham
6-12 - tooth picks
1/4 cup(s) all purpose flour
1/3 cup(s) parmesan cheese
3/4 cup(s) milk or butter milk for dipping
- salt and pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon(s) sage ; or to preference
10-3/4oz can(s) cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup(s) chicken broth

Steps:

  • Pound each chicken breasts to 1/4" thickness.
  • Place 1 slice cheese and 1 slice meat on each and roll up ; tucking in the ends and sealing with tooth picks to keep together.
  • Mix flour , parmesan cheese together in a pie plate.
  • Pour buttermilk/milk in another pie plate and mix spices with the milk.
  • Dredge rolled chicken in the milk mixture and then the flour and cheese mixture ; making sure all areas are coated well.
  • Brown all sides in skillet with a small amount of oil.
  • Transfer browned chicken rolls in a crock pot.
  • Mix soup and broth together and pour over browned chicken rolls.
  • Cover and cook on low for 3 hours or on high for 1 hour.
