Honey-Roasted Chex® Mix image

Mmm! Enjoy a honey of a crunchy snack mix that goes together in a snap.

Number Of Ingredients 8

3 cups Corn Chex™ cereal
2 cups Cheerios™ cereal
1 1/2 cups Bugles® original corn snacks
1/2 cup honey-roasted peanuts or 1 cup pretzels
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 325°F. In very large bowl, mix cereals, snacks and peanuts.
  • In 1-quart saucepan, heat corn syrup, honey and butter to boiling over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour over cereal mixture, stirring until evenly coated. Spread in ungreased 15x10x1-inch pan.
  • Bake 20 minutes, stirring after 10 minutes. Spread on waxed paper or foil to cool, about 15 minutes. Break into bite-size pieces. Store in airtight container.

3 c rice or corn chex cereal or a mix of both
1 c bagel chips (i like rye chips)
1/2 c loop pretzels
1/2 c square pretzels
1 c pretzel twist
3 Tbsp honey
2 Tbsp hot sauce, i like texas pete extra hot
2 Tbsp unsalted butter melted
1 c honey nut peanut m&m's

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 250, mix all dry ingredients together except M&M's in a bowl, in a seperate cup melt butter, add honey and hot sauce, mix together and pour over dry ingredients. Spread out evenly on a baking sheet.
  • 2. Bake at 250 for 45min turning and reap reading every 15 min. Cool and add M&M's, store till ready to use in air tight container

A seasoned mix of Corn and Wheat Chex™ cereals, buttery pretzels and cashews, with a touch of sweet spicy heat.

4 cups Corn Chex™ cereal
2 cups Wheat Chex™ cereal
2 cups butter pretzel spindles
1 cup salted roasted whole cashews
1/4 cup butter
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)

Steps:

  • Line large rimmed cookie sheet with waxed paper. In large microwavable bowl, add cereals, pretzels and cashews.
  • In small microwavable bowl, microwave butter, honey, chili powder, garlic powder and cayenne pepper uncovered on High 20 to 40 seconds or until melted. Stir and pour onto cereal mixture, mixing thoroughly to coat.
  • Microwave uncovered on High 4 to 6 minutes, stirring after every minute, until well coated and slightly toasted. Spread on cookie sheet to cool, about 15 minutes.
  • Transfer to large serving bowl.

3 cups crisp corn cereal, such as Corn Chex
3 cups crisp wheat cereal, such as Wheat Chex
3 cups crisp rice cereal, such as Rice Chex
2 cups pretzel sticks
2 cups mixed nuts
1 to 1 1/2 sticks (8 to 12 tablespoons) salted butter
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon seasoned salt, such as Lawry's
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
6 to 12 dashes hot sauce, such as Tabasco
3 to 5 cloves garlic, mashed

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.
  • Dump the corn, wheat and rice cereal into a large mixing bowl. Add the pretzel sticks and nuts.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, add the butter, Worcestershire, seasoned salt, paprika, chili powder, onion powder, hot sauce and garlic and microwave until the butter is melted. Stir together and toss into the cereal mixture, stirring as you go.
  • Transfer the mixture to 1 or 2 baking sheets and bake for 1 hour 15 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Let cool and store in an airtight container.
  • Grab a handful every 40 minutes. Eat. Spoil your appetite.
