CHERRY NUT BARS
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Combine all ingredients except pie filling and marshmallows in a large bowl. Beat at low speed, scrapping bowl often, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs (mixture will be moist).
- Reserve 1 1/2-cups crumb mixture for topping. Press remaining crumb mixture into ungreased 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned on edges.
- Remove from oven and gently spoon pie filling evenly over hot, partially baked crust. Sprinkle with marshmallows and reserved crumb mixture. Continue baking for 25-35 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Cool completely. Cut into 36 bars.

- Preheat oven to 375°. In a large bowl, cream the butter, sugars and extract until light and fluffy. Combine flour and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Press onto the bottom of an ungreased 13x9-in. baking pan. - Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
- Mix together flour, white sugar and butter or margarine. Mix until crumbly. Press into a 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Beat eggs, sugar, salt, baking powder, and vanilla. Drain and chop cherries, reserving liquid. Stir chopped cherries, nuts, and coconut into egg mixture. Pour on top of crust.
- Bake 25 min. Cool.
- Combine 1 teaspoon butter and 1 cup confectioner's sugar with enough liquid from cherries until spreadable. Frost bars. Sprinkle with coconut when icing is set.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a medium bowl, whisk together the oats, flour, wheat germ, cinnamon and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the honey, applesauce, oil, egg and egg white until well combined. Stir in the oatmeal mixture until well combined. Add the dried cherries and walnuts.
- Coat an 8-inch square baking pan with cooking spray. Spread the mixture into the prepared pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out
- clean, 30 to 35 minutes. Put the preserves in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. As soon as the bars come out of the oven, brush with the preserves. Cool completely and cut into 12 bars, about 4 by1 1/2 inches each.

- Heat oven to 325° F. Spray with cooking spray and line 8-inch square pan with cooking parchment paper, leaving paper overhanging on all sides. Set aside.
- In large bowl, mix all ingredients except honey and oil.
- In 1-quart saucepan, heat honey and oil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until melted. Heat to boiling; reduce heat to simmer, and cook about 2 minutes or until mixture thickens a bit. Add honey mixture to cereal mixture; mix until evenly coated. Spread mixture in pan; press firmly with rubber spatula in even layer.
- Bake 20 to 30 minutes or until top is golden brown and syrup is bubbly. Cool 15 minutes in pan before removing from pan using parchment overhangs. Place on cutting board, and remove parchment. Cool completely before cutting into 4 rows by 4 rows.

- Combine the flour, margarine and sugar in a bowl well.
- Pat into a 9 x 13 inch pan .
- Bake 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
- Remove and let cool slightly while preparing the filling.

- Add in the chopped nuts and cherries.

You don't really taste them (in fact everyone surprised when I said they were in there) but they add a wonderful creamy note that compliment the cherries beautifully.
