This is a wonderful cheese ball. It is very easy to make and simply delicious. Whenever I make it for gatherings or work it always gets great reviews. Serve with an assortment of crackers.

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
3 ½ cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 (1 ounce) package Ranch-style dressing mix
2 cups chopped pecans
4 pecan halves

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix together cream cheese, Cheddar cheese, and dressing mix. Form into one large ball or two smaller balls. Roll in chopped pecans to coat surface. Decorate the top with pecan halves. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.

2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (8 oz)
1 package (1 oz) ranch salad dressing & seasoning mix (3 tablespoons)
1 cup Chex Mix™ traditional snack mix (from 8.75-oz bag)

Steps:

  • In medium bowl, mix cream cheese, Cheddar cheese and seasoning mix. Shape mixture into a ball; place on plate.
  • Place snack mix in resealable food-storage plastic bag; seal bag. Use meat mallet to crush snack mix into small pieces. Press crushed snack mix all over outside of cheese ball.
  • Serve immediately.

This colorful mixture of bite-sized snack foods, cereal and crackers gets its south-of-the-border accent from taco seasoning. "The recipe makes a big batch, but it always goes fast," notes Liz Loder of Fox Point, Wisconsin.

4 cups Crispix
1 can (4-1/2 ounces) crisp cheese ball snacks
3 cups corn chips
2 cups pretzel sticks
1 cup cheese-flavored snack crackers
2 tablespoons taco seasoning
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup butter, melted

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the first five ingredients. Spread in two ungreased 15x10x1-in. baking pans. Combine the taco seasoning, oil and butter; pour over cereal mixture and toss to coat., Bake at 200° for 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes. Cool. Store in airtight containers.
