6 calendula flowers
1/2 cup butter, room temp
1/2 cup sugar
2 oranges, zest of, grated
2 tablespoons orange juice concentrate, at room temp
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup almond halve

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Lightly grease 2 cookie sheets.
  • Rinse flowers and pull off petals, set aside.
  • In a bowl, cream butter, sugar and orange rind till fluffy.
  • Add orange juice concentrate and vanilla.
  • Mix in eggs, stirring till blended.
  • Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Blend calendula petals and dry ingredients into creamed mixture.
  • Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet.
  • Press an almond half on top of each.
  • Bake 12-15 minutes.

A former co-worker devised these yummy cookies. Wonderful chocolatey goodness here, folks! Hope you enjoy. By the way, serving number is a total guess, but this a "standard" sized cookie recipe.

1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
4 tablespoons butter
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts or 1 cup pecans

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350. Line a cookie sheet with foil, coat with nonstick spray.
  • Whisk flour, cocoa, and baking powder in a medium bowl until thoroughly blended. Melt butter and one cup of the semi sweet chocolate chips in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring as needed. Remove from heat; whisk in sugar, then eggs and vanilla until blended.
  • Scrape into flour mixture, stir until smooth. Stir in 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips, 1 cup of white chocolate chips and nuts. Let stand 5 to 10 minutes, then drop 1/4 cupfuls 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheet(s).
  • Bake immediately for 12 minutes or until cookies are puffed and shiny. Cool on foil for 1 to 2 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.

2 eggs
1/4 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring
1 1/4 cups whole wheat pastry flour
2 tablespoons soy flour
1/4 cup wheat germ

Steps:

  • In a bowl mix eggs, honey and almond flavoring together until smooth.
  • Add the combined flours and the wheat germ, mixing well.
  • Drop batter by a teaspoon on to a greased cookie sheet. Cook at 325°F for 6-7 minutes. Place on cooling rack.

1 cup sweet livestock corn oats and barley feed mix (wet)
2 -3 cups wheat bran (dry)
1 cup flax seed
1 tablespoon salt
5 large apples, grated (leave the skins)
1 cup molasses (blackstrap)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup applesauce
corn oil, for pans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  • Prepare cookie sheets by lining with foil and spraying or brushing with corn oil.
  • Mix ingredients starting with the lesser amount of bran.
  • Add bran as necessary to make a stiff dough.
  • Drop by tablespoonfuls onto prepared sheets.
  • Flatten with oil-dipped glass or fork.
  • Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, turn over and continue baking for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Watch carefully.
  • If they brown too quickly, reduce heat to 250 degrees.
  • Cool completely, store in airtight containers.
