Take advantage of your favorite seasonal fruits to put together the BEST fresh fruit bowl! I've got a few easy tips for cutting, storing and assembling your fruit so that it tastes and looks amazing.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 watermelon (cut into small pieces)
1 pineapple (cut into small pieces)
4 cups red grapes (rinsed and pat dry)
1 quart fresh strawberries (washed, hulled, halved)
3 cups Berries (your favorite kind)
Any other fruit you enjoy or that is in season!

Steps:

  • Cut fruit into small pieces. Store each type of fruit separately, in ziplock bags. Place 1 or 2 pieces of folded paper towel in the bottom of the ziplock bags containing the really juicy fruits, like watermelon and pineapple. Refrigerate until ready to serve. When ready to serve, add everything to a serving bowl and serve immediately.

1 cup fat-free milk
1 cup frozen unsweetened strawberries
1/2 cup frozen unsweetened raspberries
3 tablespoons sugar
1 cup ice cubes
Optional: Sliced fresh strawberries, fresh raspberries, chia seeds, fresh pumpkin seeds, unsweetened shredded coconut and sliced almonds

Steps:

  • Place the milk, berries and sugar in a blender; cover and process until smooth. Add ice cubes; cover and process until smooth. Divide mixture between 2 serving bowls. Add optional toppings as desired.

2 quarts strawberries
2 pints blueberries
1 pint blackberries
1 pint red raspberries
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon cane sugar (optional)

Steps:

  • Wash and prep all of the fruit, and make sure all the berries are fairly dry.
  • Stem and slice the strawberries.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and red raspberries.
  • Stir the lemon juice and sugar into the berries.
  • Add the berry mix to small plastic cups and serve immediately. They're especially delicious topped off with a dollop of whipped cream.

1 banana, peeled and sliced
1 kiwifruit, peeled and sliced
1/4 cup raw old-fashioned oats
1/4 cup nut-size kernel cereal (recommended: Grape Nuts or Ezekiel)
1/4 cup bite-size shredded wheat
1/4 cup toasted whole grain wheat flakes and flaxseed cereal (recommended: Uncle Sam)
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed meal
2 tablespoons raisins
2 tablespoons walnuts
1 grapefruit, halved
3/4 cup milk substitute of choice

Steps:

  • Toss the banana, kiwifruit, oats, cereal, shredded wheat, whole grain wheat flakes, ground flaxseed, raisins, and walnuts into a bowl.
  • After cutting the grapefruit in half, use a small, sharp knife to remove the segments. Add the segments to the top of the bowl and squeeze in the juice. Top the bowl with milk substitute.

1 pint blueberries, about 3 Cups
1/2 pint raspberries, about 1 cup
1/2 pint blackberry, about 1 cup
1/4 cup orange juice or 1/4 cup orange-flavored liqueur
1 tablespoon fresh lemon zest, grated
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
whipped cream

Steps:

  • Place berries in a large bowl.
  • Stir in Orange liquor or juice, lemon zest, and lemon juice and gently toss to mix well.
  • Cover and let stand for 1 hour.
  • Serve with whipped cream.
