¼ cup chopped onion
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 cup frozen green peas
2 (5 ounce) cans tuna, drained
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
½ (4.5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
1 cup crushed potato chips

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook pasta in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente; drain.
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, thoroughly mix noodles, onion, 1 cup cheese, peas, tuna, soup and mushrooms. Transfer to a 9x13 inch baking dish, and top with potato chip crumbs and remaining 1 cup cheese.
  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until cheese is bubbly.

The crunch from the topping and fresh bite from the parsley create the perfect balance. Let's not forget that this is a great budget-friendly meal to feed a crowd!

1 (12 ounce) package egg noodles
4 ¼ teaspoons kosher salt, divided
4 tablespoons salted butter, divided
5 teaspoons olive oil, divided
1 (8 ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms
1 small white onion, minced
¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1 ½ cups chicken stock
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 ½ cups shredded white Cheddar cheese
1 cup frozen sweet peas
2 (6 ounce) cans tuna, drained
1 cup panko bread crumbs
¼ teaspoon ground paprika
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add egg noodles and 3 teaspoons salt to the boiling water; cook until tender yet firm to the bite, about 6 minutes. Drain noodles. Return to pot and set aside.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons butter and 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and onion and cook until mushrooms are softened and onions are translucent, about 4 minutes. Add remaining butter; stir constantly until melted. Sprinkle flour over vegetable mixture and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Stir in milk and stock and bring to a simmer, stirring often. Simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in lemon juice, Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon salt, and pepper.
  • Add sauce mixture to reserved noodles. Stir in 1 cup Cheddar cheese, peas, and tuna. Pour mixture into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle remaining Cheddar cheese over the top.
  • Stir together bread crumbs, remaining 2 teaspoons oil, remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt, and paprika in a small bowl. Sprinkle bread crumb mixture evenly over the casserole.

This is a recipe my entire family loves! It's requested at least once a week and for Birthday suppers. The recipe came from the mother of one of my childhood friends, who made some of the best food. If I'm making a double batch, I make it with cream of chicken and celery soups together.

2 (5 ounce) tuna steaks
8 ounces fettuccine noodles
6 tablespoons butter, divided
1 medium onion, diced
6 ounces sliced portobello mushrooms
¼ cup flour
2 ¾ cups milk
1 teaspoon chicken bouillon concentrate (such as Better than Bouillon®)
½ teaspoon adobo seasoning
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
4 slices bread, torn into small pieces

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly oil an ovenproof skillet and an 8x12-inch casserole dish.
  • Place tuna in the prepared skillet and bake in the preheated oven until fish flakes easily with a fork, 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Fill a large saucepan with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil. Cook fettuccine at a boil until tender yet firm to the bite, about 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • Remove tuna from the oven; leave oven on.
  • Meanwhile, melt 3 tablespoons butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook onion and mushrooms until softened, stirring occasionally, 5 to 7 minutes. Stir in flour until blended. 8 oz. no-yolk type medium noodles
2 tsp. butter or margarine divided
1 small chopped onion
1/2 medium chopped onion
1 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
2 tbsp. flour
1 1/4 c. 1 percent milk
1/2 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 (9 oz.) can drained water-packed albacore tuna
1/2 tsp. each salt and black pepper
1/3 c. dried bread crumbs

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees. Coat 2 quart baking dish with cooking spray set aside. Cook noodles according to package directions; drain. Meanwhile combine 1 teaspoon butter or margarine, bell pepper, onion and mushrooms in a large container and microwave on high; drain. Whisk together flour and milk until smooth. Stir into vegetable mixture; cover and microwave on high 2 minutes. Stir; recover and cook 1 minute. Stir and continue cooking in 30 seconds increments until thickened. Remove from microwave and cheese and stir until melted. Stir in tuna, cooked noodles, salt and pepper and spoon into baking dish. Bake covered 25 minutes. 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of celery soup
8 ounces sour cream
3 tablespoons minced onions

Steps:

  • Cook macaroni according to package directions.
  • Drain oil from tuna in a separate bowl.

1 1/2 stick land o'lakes stick butter
1 can(s) cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
1 can(s) cream of chicken soup (10.5 oz)
1 large yellow onion (chopped)
1/2 c diced celery (or 1/8 tsp. celery powder)
1/2 c hellmann's real mayo
2 can(s) solid white tuna albacore (5 oz.) not drained
1/4 c kraft sharp shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 c kraft sharp shredded cheddar (for topping)
1/2 c frozen sweet peas
1/4 c milk
1/2 pkg egg noodles (8 oz)
1 c crushed potato chips

  • 1. Pre-heat oven to 375
  • 2. Prepare Egg Noodles as directed on package~add a little salt for more flavoring.
  • 3. While the noodles are cooking~melt butter in a large skillet~add chopped onions. Cook until tender

  • 5. Drain Noodles~Mix Noodles and mixture from skillet together.

1/2 cup flour
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
4 cups milk, or (3c milk 1c chicken broth)
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 (12 ounce) can tuna in water
1 (8 ounce) can mixed vegetables
1 (12 ounce) bag No Yolks egg noodle substitute, extra wide

Steps:

  • needed equipment.
  • 2 pots one for sauce, one to boil noodles.
  • strainer.
  • can opener.
  • knife cutting board.
  • good stirring spoon.
  • In a large stock pot(pot1) add butter and melt. when the butter is melted add the chopped onion and garlic powder and pepper. Saute onion until translucent about a minute.
  • Then sprinkle in the flour while stirring constantly, cook mix over a med low heat for an additional one to two minute. You want to slightly cook the flour but not burn it.
  • In a separate pot (pot2)boil water for the noodles. cook the noodles until they are slightly undercooked boil for about 3min drain noodles in a strained and set aside.
  • When the flour is done turn the heat to med/high and slowly add the milk stirring constantly to avoid lumps after milk is mixed in slowly stir in the cheese bring sauce to a gently boil and it will thicken.
  • Turn heat to low add the vegetables tuna and noodles to sauce. cook until warmed through and enjoy.
  • note: I add no salt to my recipe but if you want a saltier taste you can sprinkle end result with some Parmesan cheese.
