FRESH STRAWBERRY BALSAMIC BASIL DAIQUIRI



Fresh Strawberry Balsamic Basil Daiquiri image

We like that Ted Allen's daiquiri is not overly sweet, but if you are a fan of a sweet daiquiri, you can add a drizzle of simple syrup.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/4 cup ice cubes
1/2 cup sliced fresh strawberries
4 tablespoons light rum
1/2 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
2 large fresh basil leaves plus 1 small sprig for garnish

Steps:

  • Place the ice cubes, strawberries, light rum, balsamic vinegar and basil leaves in the pitcher of a blender and blend until smooth and slushy. Pour into a tall glass and garnish with a small basil sprig.
  • Cook's Note: If your strawberries aren't very sweet, add up to 1/2 teaspoon superfine sugar.

Our easy berry daiquiri is the perfect cocktail to quench your thirst when summer arrives. This cool slushy drink is great for entertaining too

Number Of Ingredients 6

175g ripe strawberries or 200g/8oz raspberries (or use a mix of 100g/4oz strawberries and 100g/4oz raspberries)
about 6 ice cubes
juice of ½ lime
1 tbsp lemon juice
100ml white rum
small lime slice to serve

Steps:

  • If using raspberries, blend these first to a purée then rub through a sieve to extract the pips. Put a handful of ice cubes in a powerful blender and crush. Add the berries or pulp, plus the lime and lemon juice and rum. Whizz again and pour into a chilled cocktail glass straight away. Decorate with a lime slice.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 cup sugar
1 cup water
4 fresh rosemary sprigs
EACH SERVING:
1 cup frozen unsweetened sliced strawberries
1-1/2 ounces white rum
1 ounce lime juice
Whole fresh strawberries and additional rosemary sprigs

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 10 minutes. Remove from heat; add rosemary. Steep, covered, 10-15 minutes according to taste. Discard rosemary. Cool completely. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 1 month., For each serving, in a blender, combine frozen strawberries, rum, lime juice and 2 tablespoons rosemary syrup; cover and process until smooth. Pour into a chilled glass; garnish with a whole strawberry and an additional rosemary sprig.
