Number Of Ingredients 5

2 pkg. (4 oz. each) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, broken into pieces
1 pkg. (16 oz.) powdered sugar (about 4 cups)
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened
2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 cup milk

Steps:

  • Microwave chocolate in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until chocolate is almost melted, stirring after 1 min. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Cool 5 min. or to room temperature.
  • Add sugar, butter and vanilla; beat with electric mixer on low speed until well blended.
  • Gradually add milk, beating until well blended. If frosting becomes too thick, beat in additional milk by teaspoonfuls until of desired spreading consistency. Use to frost your favorite cake or cupcakes.

2 cups white sugar
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
½ cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two nine inch round pans.
  • In a large bowl, stir together the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla, mix for 2 minutes on medium speed of mixer. Stir in the boiling water last. Batter will be thin. Pour evenly into the prepared pans.
  • Bake 30 to 35 minutes in the preheated oven, until the cake tests done with a toothpick. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.

2-1/2 cups flour, divided
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1-1/2 cups water
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
2 cups powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350ºF.
  • Microwave 1-1/2 pkg. (6 oz.) chocolate and 3/4 cup margarine in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until margarine is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended.
  • Use mixer to beat granulated sugar into chocolate mixture. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing well after each. Blend in 2 tsp. vanilla. Add 1/2 cup flour, baking soda and salt; mix well. Add remaining 2 cups flour alternately with water, mixing well after each addition.
