This is a Norwegian dish that nice pairs halibut with a crisp white wine and jarlsberg cheese to create a wonderful main dish that's elegant enough for a dinner party.

4 - halibut fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- cooking spray
1 tablespoon(s) lemon juice
2 teaspoon(s) chopped fresh dill
1 cup(s) coarsely chopped tomato
1/2 cup(s) sliced green onion (scallions)
1/2 cup(s) coarsely chopped red bell pepper
1/2 cup(s) coarsely chopped green bell pepper
1/2 cup(s) coarsely chopped yellow bell pepper
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1/4 teaspoon(s) black pepper
1/2 cup(s) shredded jarlsberg cheese (2 ounces)
1/2 cup(s) dry white wine

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425ºF. Coat 13x9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Place fish in the baking dish, and drizzle lemon juice over the fish. Sprinkle the dill on top.
  • Gently toss together the tomato, bell peppers, salt and pepper. Spread the tomato mixture over the fish. Sprinkle the cheese on top.
  • Pour the wine into baking dish; cover with foil, and bake at 425º for 25 minutes or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.

Moist and delicious halibut is baked in a creamy topping with green onions and dill. This is the perfect recipe for dinner parties. Everybody loves this dish!

2 pounds halibut fillet, cut into 6 pieces
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 bunch green onions, chopped
½ cup mayonnaise
½ cup sour cream
1 teaspoon dried dill weed

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 475 degrees F (245 degrees C).
  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Season halibut with salt and ground black pepper.
  • Place halibut in the greased baking dish.
  • Combine green onions, mayonnaise, sour cream, and dill in a bowl.
  • Spread green onion mixture evenly over each halibut piece.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork, about 20 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
