This baked fish is our absolute favorite baked white fish recipe. It's cooked in a delicious lemon garlic butter sauce until tender and flaky. It's a 20-minute dinner recipe you don't want to miss!

3 cloves garlic (minced)
1 lemon
1 ½ lb white fish fillets (see notes)
½ teaspoon EACH: sea salt and pepper
Minced parsley (to serve)

1-1/4 pounds fish fillets
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
Pepper to taste
Paprika, optional
3 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°. Place fish in a greased 11x7-in. baking dish. Sprinkle with seasoned salt, pepper and paprika if desired. Drizzle with butter. , Cover and bake until fish just begins to flake easily with a fork, 15-20 minutes.

2 large potatoes
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 cloves minced garlic
1 sliced green pepper
1 sliced onion
1/4 cup dry white wine
1/4 olive oil

  • Place sliced potatoes on bottom of baking dish.

Baked Fish (Peixe assado) image

Number Of Ingredients 9

3 pounds fish steaks
salt and pepper
3 large tomatoes cut in half
1/4 pound sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup white wine
2 tablespoons cilantro
1 grated yellow onion
lemon wedges

Steps:

  • Ask the fish merchant to slice the fish, but don't separate slices so that fish looks whole. Place the fish in a baking dish and season with salt and pepper. Surround fish with tomatoes and mushrooms. Mix together oil and white wine. Pour over the fish and bake in a hot oven at 400 degrees for 30 minutes, basting occasionally. Mix together cilantro and yellow onion. Remove fish from the oven and sprinkle with cilantro and onion mixture. Bake 10 minutes longer. Garnish with lemon wedges. Serve with buttery new potatoes with parsley.

Mexican Baked Fish image

Make this Mexican baked fish as hot or mild as you like. Serve with rice, black beans, warm tortillas and margaritas for a festive meal!

1 ½ pounds cod
1 cup salsa
1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
½ cup coarsely crushed corn chips
1 avocado - peeled, pitted and sliced
¼ cup sour cream

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease one 8x12 inch baking dish.
  • Rinse fish fillets under cold water, and pat dry with paper towels. Lay fillets side by side in the prepared baking dish. Pour the salsa over the top, and sprinkle evenly with the shredded cheese. Top with the crushed corn chips.
  • Bake, uncovered, in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until fish is opaque and flakes with a fork. Serve topped with sliced avocado and sour cream.
