CHOCOLATE COVERED BACON CANDY!!!

Chocolate Covered Bacon Candy!!! image

My grandmother use to make this for me when I was a little girl... People thought it was the craziest thing they had ever heard of!!! As for me.... I was in "Hog Heaven"! If you like bacon... and you like chocolate..... YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS!!! At our Super Bowl parties this is a must!

Provided by Colleen Sowa

Categories     Chocolate

Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 2

12 strips bacon
left over chocolate or chocolate almond bark

Steps:

  • 1. Cut the bacon strips in half. Fry the bacon as flat as you can, and as crisp as you can. Do not burn!!! Remove from skillet to paper towel lined plate to remove as much fat as possible.
  • 2. When you are done making your other candies using chocolate almond bark, dip the cooled bacon into the almond bark. I dip the bacon two ways: 1. Dip the entire strip of bacon and coat on both sides. Place on wax paper lined baking sheet. Refrigerate or freeze of 5-10 minutes or until chocolate bark hardens. 2. Dip 1/2 to 3/4 of a strip of bacon. Place on wax paper lined baking sheet, and refrigerate or freeze for 5-10 minutes to harden chocolate bark.
  • 3. *** If you don't want the flat strips of bacon, cut each strip into 3 or 4 pieces. Fry until crisp, drain on paper towels. Cool completely. Dip completely in chocolate bark or dark chocolate chips. Let set before serving or storing in airtight container.
  • 4. *** I also put a thin layer of peanut butter on bacon. Freeze for 10 minutes, then dip in the chocolate. *** Spread a little caramel topping on bacon, sprinkle with coarsely chopped pecans. Freeze for 15 minutes. Dip in chocolate. Sprinkle additional nuts on the chocolate layer and set on wax paper.
  • 5. *** After all the bacon pieces are coated the way you choose to do them, let them harden, then drizzle with white chocolate or almond bark to decorate.

BAKED SRIRACHA GLAZED MAN CANDY BACON WRAPPED ONION RINGS

Baked Sriracha Glazed Man Candy Bacon Wrapped Onion Rings image

Find more fantabulous recipes, tips and tricks at www.thekitchenwhisperer.net. Also, join our TKW Family on Facebook

Provided by @MakeItYours

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 large Vidalia onions, peeled and cut into 1/2" rings (do not separate rings)
3 Tbl Sriracha
1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
16 slices of bacon
Wooden skewers (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400F, rack in the middle.
  • Line a baking sheet with foil and place a cooling rack on top.
  • Lightly spray the cooling rack.
  • Place the brown sugar in a pie tin.
  • Place the Sriracha in a bowl.
  • Gently separate the onion rings leaving 2 rings together (you want to double up on the onions when you wrap them). For this dish you want the larger rings. The smaller, inner rings you can set aside and use in another dish.
  • Take 2 strips of bacon and coat each side with brown sugar (doesn't have to be caked on but coated evenly).
  • If your hands are sensitive, put on plastic gloves and using a pastry brush or rubber tipped brush, baste the Sriracha on all sides of the onion rings (leaving the 2 together).
  • Starting at one end of the bacon, snuggly but gently wrap the bacon around the onion ring slightly overlapping itself. You should be able to get half way around (again, depends on how big your rings are).
  • Take the second piece of bacon and place one end over top of the previous piece of bacon (where you left off) and continue wrapping until you have completely wrapped the onion ring in bacon.
  • If you wish at this point you can skewer the bacon in place (I didn't).
  • Place end side down on the rack and continue wrapping the rest of the rings. For the smaller rings I used 1 1/2 slices of bacon. You really don't want to overload this with bacon as you want the bacon to cook evenly.
  • Once all the rings are wrapped, place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Using tongs GENTLY flip over.
  • Cook for another 15-20 minutes. The last 3 minutes I broiled them as I wanted that charred appearance.
  • Remove from the oven and immediately plate. They will be soft so be careful but the bacon will crisp up and they will become crispy crunchy.

MAN CANDY SWEET SPICY CANDIED BACON RECIPE - MADE BY A PRINCESS

Man Candy Sweet Spicy Candied Bacon Recipe - Made by a Princess image

This can't-stop-at-just-one Man Candy Sweet Spicy Candied Bacon Recipe is just too good to keep to myself! If you've tried it before you know what I mean!

Provided by @MakeItYours

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 lb bacon
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, 1 tsp if you like it really spicy
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cayenne
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, pour all ingredients, except the bacon, together and mix well with a fork. Take a package of bacon, cut the strips in half, and place them on a foil lined cookie sheet. Spread the sugar mixture over all the pieces of bacon, making sure to cover every spot. If you have enough, turn the bacon over and coat the other side as well. Bake at 350F for 20 minutes. The bacon should be crispy but not burnt. You might need to bake for a few minutes longer. I suggest doing this in 2 minute intervals because the sugar will start to burn very quickly if left in too long. UPDATE: I have found that turning the bacon over after cooking for 10 mins works really well. Let cool for a little bit and serve in a pretty glass...or just eat right from the plate!

SUNNY'S CANDY BAR AND BACON ROLLS

Sunny's Candy Bar and Bacon Rolls image

Provided by Sunny Anderson

Categories     dessert

Time 50m

Yield 8 rolls

Number Of Ingredients 7

All-purpose flour, for dusting
1 tube croissant dough (makes 8 individual croissants)
1 cup chopped chocolate candy bars (I like Snickers and/or Butterfinger here)
4 slices crisp-cooked bacon, chopped
1 tablespoon sour cream
Turbinado sugar, for sprinkling
Flake salt, for sprinkling

Steps:

  • For the rolls: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • On a lightly floured flat surface, roll out the dough and separate it into 4 rectangular parts, leaving 2 triangles attached for each of the 4 sections. Each section should appear to be a rectangle with a perforated dividing line through its center diagonally. Carefully pinch together the 2 triangles along this line to close the gaps and seal it to make it 1 piece. Cut each piece in half to make 2 squares. Repeat for each and place on a nonstick baking sheet with sides. There should be 8 squares to fill.
  • Combine the candy bars and bacon in a medium bowl. Add 1 heaping tablespoon of the candy mixture in a row along the length of the prepared dough in the center, leaving enough room to pull the uncovered dough on the edges up and over the pile of filling.
  • For the topping: In a small bowl, mix the sour cream and just enough water to make it loose like glue, yes glue. Brush this over the top of each roll and sprinkle with sugar and a pinch of flake salt.
  • Bake until golden on top, 16 to 20 minutes. Allow to cool slightly.

MAN CANDY (CANDIED BACON & NUTS) RECIPE - (4.3/5)

Man Candy (Candied Bacon & Nuts) Recipe - (4.3/5) image

Provided by msippigrl

Number Of Ingredients 16

CANDIED NUTS:
1 cup pecans, halves or large pecans
1 cup walnuts, large pieces
1/4 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark)
2 tablespoons real maple syrup
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
Pinch of salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or freshly cracked to taste
CANDIED BACON:
6 to 8 slices lean, thick-cut bacon, chopped in 3/4-inch pieces
1/4 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark)
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
Zest of 1 lemon, grated (2 teaspoons)
1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper

Steps:

  • Prepare the nuts: In a mixing bowl, stir together all the Candied Nuts ingredients EXCEPT for the pecans and walnuts; add the pecans and walnuts and stir until coated. Set aside. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with foil. Prepare the bacon: Place the chopped bacon in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. (I chopped it with kitchen shears.) Place in oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until bacon is about two-thirds done and fat is rendered. Remove bacon with a slotted spatula to paper towels to drain. Remove foil from baking sheet, then line it with parchment paper. Meanwhile, in another bowl, stir together the Candied Bacon ingredients (excluding the cooked bacon); stir in cooked bacon until coated. Add the bacon mixture to the nut mixture, stirring together lightly. Spread the mixture evenly onto the parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until hot and bubbly and bacon is done. (After it came out of the oven, I used a thin metal spatula to flip the mixture over to evenly distribute the glaze.) Cool in pan on a wire rack. Store in an airtight container.

BACON CANDY

Bacon Candy image

Im not sure where I got this recipe from, but have made it many many times. Kids LOVE this stuff! Its easy and doesn't take long if you have room on the smoker. We do a couple of BBQ cook-offs each year and entered this in the "open" catagory......we now get requests from judges and competitors to make more each year....LOL.

Provided by Hotdog2

Categories     Pork

Time 1h40m

Yield 1 lb bacon, 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 lb bacon
2 cups brown sugar
1 -2 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes

Steps:

  • Put bacon side by side on foil.
  • Evenly spread out the brown sugar over the bacon untill you can barley see the bacon. More sugar may be needed.
  • Next sprinkle the red pepper flakes out evenly over the bacon and sugar.
  • Place each strip of bacon on the smoker and cook at 225 - 250 for 1.5 to 2 hours or untill all sugar is melted and turned clear and bacon is to desired doneness. Do NOT place foil with the bacon on the smoker. Bacon greese will ruin this if its not able to cook off. When done, CAREFULLY remove Pig Candy and let cool for a few minutes than enjoy.
  • I have also added chopped pecans instead of the red pepper flakes -- still very tastey!

This is the most requested treat!!! And the easiest to do too! Kids and adults all request this every year... they just love it! This is a must on every candy tray... Enjoy!!!

Provided by Colleen Sowa @colleenlucky7

Categories     Candies

Number Of Ingredients 3

small pretzels sticks
- white almond bark (melted)
- yellow m & m candies (can use orange too.. but not as cute)

Steps:

  • Line baking sheets with wax paper. Place two pretzel sticks close to each other on the wax paper. Repeat until tray is full. (Don't over crowd).
  • Place the white almond bark in a double boiler (or set a small pan on top of a smaller pan that has water in it), Bring double boiler's water to a boil, then turn the heat down to keep the water hot. Melt the almond bark. Do Not let water or steam get into the bark. The bark should be melted and creamy.
  • Using a teaspoon, fill the tip of the spoon with bark, drop a small amount onto the two pretzels. Place two M & M's on the almond bark. Repeat process until your desired amount is done!
  • Place the pan of bacon and eggs in the freezer or refrigerator for about 5 - 10 minutes to set the candies.
  • To remove from the wax paper, just gently wiggled the paper around and up and down a bit. We store them in zip lock bags or airtight containers.
