For a change from basic barbecue chicken wings, try these Asian-inspired drummies marinated in a zesty teriyaki-Thai sauce and then grilled.

1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
1 tablespoon Thai red curry sauce
24 chicken wing drummettes (3 lb)
2 tablespoons coarsely chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons chopped salted dry-roasted peanuts

Steps:

  • In large resealable food-storage plastic bag, mix teriyaki sauce and curry sauce. Add drummettes; seal bag. Shake to coat chicken evenly with sauce mixture. Refrigerate 1 hour.
  • Heat gas or charcoal grill. Remove drummettes from marinade; discard marinade. Place drummettes on grill over medium heat. Cover grill; cook 20 to 25 minutes until chicken is golden brown on outside and no longer pink in center.
  • Place drummettes on serving platter. Sprinkle with cilantro and peanuts.

1 package (3 pounds) frozen chicken drummettes, thawed
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons oriental chili-garlic sauce or chili puree with garlic

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 450°. Pat excess moisture from thawed drummettes, using paper towels; place drummettes in large bowl. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of the melted butter over drummettes. Sprinkle with flour; toss to mix. (Mixture will be crumbly.)
  • Arrange drummettes in single layer in ungreased rectangular pan, 15 1/2x10 1/2x1 inch. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until crisp and brown.
  • Transfer browned drummettes to 4- to 6-quart slow cooker, using slotted spoon. Mix remaining 1 tablespoon butter, the hoisin sauce and chili-garlic sauce. Pour over drummettes; toss lightly to coat.
  • Cover and cook on low heat setting 1 to 2 hours or until juice of drummettes is no longer pink when centers of thickest pieces are cut. Drummettes will hold on low heat setting up to 2 hours.
