1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 cup quick cooking oats
¾ cup packed brown sugar
¾ cup raisins
1 ¼ cups applesauce
⅓ cup vegetable oil
2 eggs, beaten
¼ cup milk
¼ cup apple juice

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch loaf pan.
  • Soak raisins in apple juice.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, soda, cinnamon, oats, and brown sugar. Add applesauce, oil, eggs, and milk; stir until just combined. Mix in raisins. Spread batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake for 55 to 60 minutes. Remove from pan immediately, and cool on a wire rack.

This is a quick way to make a moist and yummy raisin bread. The longer it sits, the better it gets!! This freezes well after it is baked.

2 1/3 cups Bisquick
3 eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups applesauce
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup raisins

Steps:

  • In mixing bowl beat eggs, add sugar,applesauce,oil,cinnamon,and vanilla. Beat until mixed.
  • Add bisquick and mix well.
  • Stir in raisins and pour into prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake at 350 until top springs back when touched.
  • This rises a lot and the top usually splits.
  • Wrap in foil while warm.

Have been sifting through another batch of recipes that I'd filed away over 25 years ago, & for those of you who ALSO like raisins....

1 1/2 cups dark raisins
1/3 cup cherry brandy
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon low sodium salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup applesauce
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, then grease & flour one 9 inch loaf pan.
  • Soak raisins in brandy 15 minutes.
  • In large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon & cloves, then set aside.
  • In medium bowl, combine applesauce, eggs, brown sugar & oil, mixing well.
  • Add raisins & nuts to applesauce mixture & mix well.
  • Add fruit mixture to flour mixture & stir only until flour is moistened.
  • Pour into greased pan & bake 50-55 minutes.
  • Cool in pan 15 minutes before removing loaf of bread to cool completely on wire rack.

3 eggs
1 C brn sugar
1 1/2 c applesauce
1/2 C vegetable oil
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp pure vanilla extract ( not imitation)
1 1/2 C raisins

  • 1. Beat eggs, add sugar, applesauce, oil & vanilla in mixing bowl. Beat until mixed.
  • 2. Add: Bisquick, mix well. Stir in raisins, pour into oiled loaf pan.
  • 3. Bake: @ 350 until top springs back when touched. (about 1 hr.)some ovens a little more. will be a nice golden brown top. NORE: This will rise a lot and the top will usually split before its done.
  • 4. wrap in foil while warm. serve warm or freeze till your ready for a snack. this makes wonderful gifts.

1 (16 ounce) jar applesauce
2 cups raisins
1/2 cup all-bran cereal
2 1/2 cups flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.
  • In small bowl, combine eggs, applesauce, raisins, and bran cereal; let stand about 10 mins and stir.
  • In large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • Stir vegetable oil and brown sugar into raisin/applesauce mixture.
  • Add raisin/applesauce mixture to dry ingredients, stir until moistened completely and turn into loaf pan.
  • Bake 60-70 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
  • Let cool 15 minutes before removing from pan.

1 c quick oats
½ c firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/3 c vegetable oil
1 c applesauce
1 c raisins

Steps:

  • Combine dry ingredients. Add eggs, oil and applesauce mixing well. Stir in raisins. (Hand mixing works well with this recipe.) Fill greased 9x5x3 loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour (Grandma baked last 30 minutes at 325 degrees).
