Chopped apples and raisins add texture and extra flavor to a spice cake mix. Baked in a rectangular pan, these tasty bars are frosted before serving.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 pkg. (2-layer size) spice cake mix
3/4 cup MIRACLE WHIP Dressing
2 egg s
1 large apple, chopped (about 1 cup)
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup Snack Bar Frosting

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Beat cake mix, dressing and eggs in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Stir in apples and raisins.
  • Pour into greased 13x9-inch baking pan.
  • Bake 25 to 30 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Spread with Snack Bar Frosting. Cut into 32 bars to serve.

3/4 caup flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup margarine
2 8 oz. pkgs. cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1 cup chopped apple
1/3 cup raisins
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Steps:

  • 1. Combine oats, flour and sugars; cut margarine in until mixture resebles coarse crumbs. Reserve 1 cup oat mixture; press remaining mixture onto bottom of greased 13x9-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 for 15 min. 2. Comebine cream cheese and eggs, mixing well until blended. Pour over crust. Top with combined remaining ingredients; sprinkle with reserved oat mixture. Bake at 350 for 25 min. Cool; cut into bars.

1 Tbsp granulated sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Steps:

  • Combine oats, flour and sugars; cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Reserve 1 cup oat mixture; press remaining mixture onto bottom of greased 13x9 inch baking pan. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes.
  • Combine cream cheese and eggs, mixing until well blended. Pour over crust. Top with combined remaining ingredients; sprinkle with reserved oat mixture.
  • Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. Cool; cut into bars.

3/4 cup(s) salad dressing (such as miracle whip)
2 - eggs
1/2 cup(s) apple, chopped
1/2 cup(s) raisins
FROSTING
3 1/2 cup(s) powdered sugar
1 stick(s) butter or margarine, softened
2 tablespoon(s) milk
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350*. Grease 9x13 pan.
  • Blend cake mix, dressing and eggs with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Stir in apple and raisins. Spread into pan.
  • Bake in 350* oven for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
  • Blend all ingredients for frosting with electric mixer on low speed until moistened. Beat on high speed until light and fluffy. Spread over bars.
