1 pound grass-fed ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1/2 - 1 head cabbage, chopped
1 tablespoon butter
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce (I've even used pasta sauce)
Salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • In a large pan, brown ground beef until no longer pink. Add onion and continue cooking until translucent. Drain extra fat if needed (or leave it and don't use the butter). Add garlic and continue cooking for 1 minute. Add butter, cabbage, tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt and pepper to the pan and stir to combine. Cover and simmer about 20 - 30 minutes until the cabbage is soft.

1 lb ground beef ((400g))
1 yellow onion ((diced))
1/2 head of cabbage ((shredded, about 6 cups))
1 can diced tomatoes
1 tbsp garlic ((minced))
1 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp red chili flakes
1/4 tsp celery seed
to taste salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Sauté the onion in a little bit of cooking oil until soft and translucent.
  • Add the ground beef, spice and season generously with salt and pepper. Be sure to taste test and add more salt if needed.
  • Once the ground beef is browned, add the canned tomato and cabbage, stir and let simmer for 25 to 30 minutes. Stirring occasionally.
