This is a family favorite that MUST be at every kind of 'roast' something dinner. It is very rich tasting and what we all consider comfort food. I'm not sure where this originated from, just very thankful to have it. You can use 7oz cheez whiz in place of the shredded cheddar, but I don't like it as much. You can also omit the cheese entirely if you want. I once did that by accident and it tasted just fine.

1/2 cup butter, divided
1 minced garlic clove
1 large white onion, finely chopped
4 cups broccoli florets
1 (10 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup mushroom, chopped
1/2 cup milk or 1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sliced almonds, divided
4 slices day old bread, torn into pieces

Steps:

  • Cook broccoli until tender. Drain.
  • Melt 1/4 c butter in medium saucepan and saute onions and garlic in the butter. Add the mushrooms, 1/4 c sliced almonds, soup and cheese. Stir until hot and cheese is melted.
  • In a large casserole dish stir together the broccoli and soup mixture.
  • Melt remaining 1/4 c butter and toss with the bread pieces and remaining 1/4 c sliced almonds. Top the casserole with this mixture.
  • Bake at 350 for 30 minute.

4 -6 cups broccoli
1 clove garlic, pressed
1 large onion, diced
1/4 cup butter
1 (10 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
3/4 cup Cheese Whiz
1 (10 ounce) can mushrooms, drained
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/2 cup crouton

Steps:

  • Pre-stream broccoli for about 5 minutes.
  • Saute onions and garlic in butter.
  • Add soup, cheese whiz and mushrooms to sauteed onion mixture.
  • Put broccoli into a greased casserole dish and pour sauce over it.
  • Sprinkle the almonds over this and then sprinkle the croutons on top.
  • Bake at 350 degF for 30 minutes.

1 (16oz.) bag frozen broccoli
1 (16 oz.) bag frozen cauliflower
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 (8oz) bag shredded cheddar cheese
1 (8 oz.) bag slivered almonds
1 (4oz) bag sliced almonds
Bread crumbs

Steps:

  • 1. Completely thaw and drain broccoli and cauliflower in a colander. 2. Mix soup, cheese, slivered almonds and 1/2 soup can water, mix with vegetables. Place in casserole. 3. Top with bread crumbs and sliced almonds. 4. Bake at 350 degree F for 30 min. or until hot and bubbly.

2 (8 oz.) pkg. frozen broccoli, cooked and drained
1/3 c. mayonnaise
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. curry powder
1 c. grated mozarella cheese
1 (2 1/2 oz) pkg. slivered almonds toasted in melted butter
1 c. Ritz cracker crumbs combined with 4 tbsp melted butter

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 325 degree F. 2. Place broccoli in 1 quart casserole. 3. Combine mayonnaise, chicken soup, eggs, curry powder, cheese and almonds in mixing bowl. 4. Mix and pour over broccoli. 5. Sprinkle crumbs evenly over casserole. 6. Bake 30 - 35 min.
