Want to eat like an Alaskan? Then make this creamy hot-smoked salmon dip (from fish that's been cured and wood smoked) for your next gathering.

8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest plus 1 tablespoon fresh lemon zest (from 1 lemon)
1 small clove garlic, finely grated
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
6 ounces hot-smoked salmon, finely flaked with your hands or a fork
1 scallion, thinly sliced
Sliced carrots, celery, cucumbers and/or crackers, for serving

Steps:

  • Whisk together the cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic, 1 tablespoon water and a large pinch of pepper in a medium bowl until completely smooth. Fold in the smoked salmon and scallions to combine well. Season to taste with additional salt and pepper if needed. Transfer to a small serving bowl and serve with vegetables and/or crackers.

1 pound plum (roma) tomatoes, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 (1.25 ounce) package McCormick® Chicken Bruschetta Seasoning Mix, divided
1 tablespoon lemon juice
¾ cup coarsely chopped smoked salmon
1 (8 ounce) package whipped cream cheese
½ cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons thinly sliced fresh basil

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Mix tomatoes, oil and 1/2 package of the Seasoning Mix in large bowl. Place in single layer on large, shallow, foil-lined baking pan.
  • Roast 25 minutes or until tomatoes are soft and browned on top. Let cool.
  • Mix cooled tomatoes and lemon juice in large bowl. Add salmon, cream cheese, mayonnaise and remaining Seasoning Mix; gently stir until well blended. Garnish with basil. Serve with sliced baguette or crackers.

I got this recipe while living in Alaska from a real life Mountain man I met at a bar one night after the entire bar was boosting that his Salmon dip was the best they ever tasted. It's the best I've ever had and it works well with Imitation crab too!

2 red salmon fillets (or 2 packages imitation crabmeat)
3 -4 tablespoons butter
1 small onion, chopped
2 (8 ounce) boxes cream cheese
1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
Worcestershire sauce
1 (8 ounce) jar sweet relish
1 (8 ounce) jar dill relish
garlic salt

Steps:

  • Wrap Salmon in tin foil with Butter and Onions, bake in oven on 350 for about 15 to 20 or until done (cooking times my very, he never was exact on cooking time so just be sure to watch it).
  • Then debone the Salmon and flake it using a fork.
  • In a large bowl add salmon, cream cheese, stir, add sour cream, Worcestershire, relishes, and garlic salt, stir again.
  • Makes sure to add Worcestershire and garlic salt to taste.
  • Can be served hot or cold.
  • Goes well with crackers, bread or even sandwiches.

1 cup Mayonnaise
1 tablespoon dijon mustard
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons dill weed
salt, pepper
1 lb smoked (sockeye) salmon, skin removed, cut in small chunks or shred

Steps:

  • Blend first 6 ingredients in cuisinart. Add salmon, pulsing until roughly chopped and mixed into cream cheese mixture. Spread on crackers or bread.
