Time 27m

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 lb Pizza Dough
1 15-Ounce Can Crushed Tomatoes
2 cloves Garlic
4 oz Fresh Mozzarella Cheese
2 oz Fontina Cheese
0.7 oz Grana Padano Cheese
1 Tbsp Italian Seasoning (Whole Dried Basil, Sage, Oregano, Savory, Rosemary, Thyme, & Marjoram)
2 Tbsps Quark Cheese
6 oz Carrots
1 Apple
1 head Butter Lettuce
2 Tbsps Sliced Roasted Almonds
1 Tbsp Creamy Mustard Sauce

Steps:

  • Prep the ingredients. Remove the dough from the refrigerator to bring to room temperature. Preheat the oven to 475°F. Peel and roughly chop the garlic. Grate the fontina cheese on the large side of a box grater. Tear the mozzarella cheese into small pieces. Grate the Grana Padano cheese on the small side of a box grater.
  • Make the sauce. In a small pot, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil on medium-high until hot. Add the chopped garlic; season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring frequently, 30 seconds to 1 minute, or until slightly softened. Add the tomatoes (carefully, as the liquid may splatter) and Italian seasoning; season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, 4 to 5 minutes, or until slightly thickened. Turn off the heat, add the Quark Cheese, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Assemble and bake the pizza. Lightly oil a sheet pan. On a work surface, using your hands and a rolling pin (or a wine bottle), gently stretch and roll the dough to a 1/4-inch thickness. (If the dough is resistant, let rest 5 minutes.) Carefully transfer to the sheet pan; rub into the pan to coat the bottom in oil.
  • Leaving a 1-inch border around the edges, spread enough of the sauce onto the dough to coat (you may have extra sauce). Evenly top with the grated fontina cheese, torn mozzarella cheese, and half the grated Grana Padano cheese; season with salt and pepper.
  • Blue Apron's recommendation is to bake 17 to 19 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden brown; however my pizza was done after 14 minutes. Remove from the oven and let stand at least 2 minutes.
  • Slice pizza and serve. Transfer the baked pizza to a cutting board and cut into equal-sized pieces. Serve the sliced pizza with the salad on the side. Garnish the pizza with the remaining grated Grana Padano cheese.
  • Prepare the salad. While the pizza bakes, wash and dry the fresh produce. Cut off and discard the root end of the lettuce; separate the leaves. Peel the carrots and grate on the large side of a box grater. Quarter, core, and thinly slice the apple. Combine in a large bowl.
  • Make the dressing. In a bowl, whisk together the creamy mustard sauce and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Just before serving, add the almonds and enough of the dressing to coat to the bowl of prepared salad ingredients (you may have extra dressing); season with salt and pepper. Toss to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Time 45m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
1/2 tablespoon Instant Dry Yeast
1 tablespoon Granulated Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 cup Water
3/4 cup Pizza Sauce
2 cup Mozzarella Cheese
2/3 cup Asiago Cheese
2/3 cup Parmesan Cheese
1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper

Steps:

  • If you're using a pizza stone, place it on a center rack in a cold oven. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
  • Prepare the Asiago Cheese (2/3 cup), Mozzarella Cheese (2 cup) and Parmesan Cheese (2/3 cup).
  • Sift together the All-Purpose Flour (1 1/2 cup), Granulated Sugar (1 tablespoon), Instant Dry Yeast (1/2 tablespoon), and Salt (1/2 teaspoon) into a large bowl.
  • Add Water (1/2 cup) and mix with a fork until a dough is formed. It should be slightly sticky. You may have to abandon the fork and switch to using your hands before the dough is fully formed. Let rest for a few minutes.
  • Once the dough has rested for a few minutes, roll it out on a floured surface until it is about 1/4 inch thick. Sprinkle a cutting board with corn meal or flour and transfer the crust to the board. Then spread Pizza Sauce (3/4 cup) evenly on the dough.
  • Sprinkle the three cheeses evenly over the pizza: first the mozzarella, then the asiago, then the parmesan. Finally, sprinkle the Ground Black Pepper (1 teaspoon) over the pizza.
  • Slide the oven rack with the pizza stone out of the oven, and gently transfer the pizza to the stone before sliding the rack back inside. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the edges of the crust are browning and the cheese is bubbly and brown.
  • Slice into pieces and serve hot!

THREE-CHEESE BACON PIZZA

Three-Cheese Bacon Pizza image

Provided by Food Network Kitchen

Time 40m

Yield 4 (makes 2 pies)

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 pound prepared pizza dough, at room temperature
All-purpose flour, for dusting
4 slices bacon, chopped
1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 clove garlic, grated
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (about 4 ounces)
1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese (about 4 ounces)
1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Put a pizza stone or inverted baking sheet on the lowest oven rack and preheat to 475 degrees F for at least 15 minutes. Meanwhile, roll out the dough into a 9-inch round on a lightly floured surface. Lightly dust a pizza peel or another inverted baking sheet with flour; lay the round of dough on top and set aside. Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring, until crisp, about 6 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Combine the tomato sauce, olive oil, garlic and oregano in a medium bowl; season with salt and pepper. Slide the dough directly onto the hot stone or baking sheet and bake until lightly golden and puffy, about 7 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly, then carefully slice the crust in half horizontally with a serrated knife to make 2 thin crusts. Turn the crusts cut-side up. Spread with the sauce mixture, then top evenly with the mozzarella, cheddar and bacon. Slide the pizzas back onto the hot stone or baking sheet; bake until the cheese melts and the crust is golden, about 8 more minutes. Sprinkle with the parmesan.

CHICAGO DEEP-DISH PIZZA

Chicago Deep-Dish Pizza image

Home cooks will find deep-dish pizza, with its unique buttery cornmeal crust, more forgiving than its New York counterpart. No need to worry about having the hottest oven or too many toppings - just make sure your sauce is very thick and flavorful! I garnished mine with parsley and more Parmesan cheese.

Time 2h30m

Yield 10

Number Of Ingredients 16

1 ⅓ cups warm water
2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
¼ cup olive oil
¼ cup melted butter
2 teaspoons white sugar
1 ½ teaspoons fine salt
½ cup cornmeal
3 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons olive oil, or as needed, divided
4 cups pizza sauce, or to taste
4 ounces sliced provolone cheese
8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, cubed
1 pound spicy Italian sausage, casings removed
4 ounces shredded part-skim, low-moisture mozzarella cheese
2 ounces Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
1 tablespoon olive oil

Steps:

  • Pour water into the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Sprinkle in yeast and let dissolve, about 10 minutes. Add olive oil, melted butter, sugar, salt, cornmeal, and most of the flour. Knead, stopping to scrape down the sides occasionally and adding more flour as needed, until smooth and elastic.
  • Transfer dough to a lightly floured work surface. Knead in extra flour if needed. Roll into a ball and place in a bowl greased with 1/2 teaspoon olive oil. Cover with a plate and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in volume, 1 to 2 hours.
  • Meanwhile, let pizza sauce simmer in a pot over low heat until very thick, 60 to 90 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • Poke dough to deflate and turn out onto your work surface. Press and stretch out dough into a round shape 3 to 4 inches larger than a 12-inch cast iron skillet. Brush skillet with 1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil. Place dough in the skillet; stretch and pull to evenly distribute it over the bottom and sides.
  • Lay provolone cheese over the bottom of the crust. Scatter fresh mozzarella on top. Add Italian sausage and firm mozzarella. Ladle pizza sauce generously on top. Grate Parmesan cheese on top. Fold the edges of the crust in towards the center to seal in the sides. Drizzle crust and center with 1 tablespoon olive oil.
  • Bake in the center of the preheated oven until crust sounds hollow and pizza is beautifully browned, about 35 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Categories     Dinner

Yield 6 pizzas

Number Of Ingredients 23

7 ½ cups pizza flour, plus 2½ tablespoons, plus more for dusting
¼ teaspoon instant yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
¾ teaspoon extra virgin olive oil, plus more to taste
2 ¾ cups water
3 ½ teaspoons salt
nonstick cooking spray, for greasing
semolina flour, for dusting
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
1 ¼ lb fatty pork butt, cut into ½-inch (1 1/4 cm) cubes
⅓ teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh italian parsley, chopped
1 tablespoon garlic
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon red wine
1 teaspoon kosher salt
28 oz crushed tomatoes
8 oz low moisture mozzarella cheese ball, torn
24 fresh basil leaves
olive oil, to taste
flaky sea salt, to taste

Steps:

  • In a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook, combine the flour, yeast, and sugar. Mix on low speed, streaming in the olive oil and water until combined. Increase the speed to medium-low and continue mixing for 5 minutes, until the dough comes together.
  • Pull the dough off the hook into the bowl. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let rest for 30 minutes.
  • Sprinkle the salt evenly over the dough.
  • Return the bowl to the stand mixer and mix on medium-low speed for another 5 minutes.
  • Lightly grease a large bowl with olive oil. Transfer the dough to the bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 24 hours.
  • Grease a clean surface, kitchen scale, and baking sheet with nonstick spray.
  • Turn the dough out onto the greased surface and divide into 240-gram portions. Shape each portion into a ball, twisting the bottom to keep the top taut. Place seam-side down on the greased baking sheet. Wrap the baking sheet in plastic wrap and return to the refrigerator for 24 hours.
  • While the dough proofs for the second time, make the Italian sausage: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Sprinkle the fennel seeds on a baking sheet. Toast for 5 minutes, until fragrant and toasted.
  • Transfer the fennel seeds to a mortar and pestle and grind until coarsely cracked.
  • In a large bowl, combine the pork butt, fennel seeds, red pepper flakes, rosemary, parsley, garlic, paprika, and pepper. Stir well. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill overnight.
  • Uncover the meat and season with the salt.
  • In a stand mixer fitted with the meat grinder attachment, grind the pork mixture on the medium-size die into the stand mixer bowl.
  • Remove the meat grinder attachment and fit the mixer with the paddle attachment. Mix the meat on medium speed and slowly drizzle in the red wine. Mix until the meat emulsifies and starts to stick to the sides of the bowl. Evenly spread the meat on a lightly greased baking sheet, creating one large patty, about 7 inches long by 5 inches (17.5 by 12.5 cm) wide.
  • Turn the oven to broil.
  • Broil the sausage patty for 3-4 minutes, until top is browned. The sausage will not be cooked through, as it will finish cooking on top of the pizza. Let cool, then crumble into large chunks.
  • Remove the pizza dough from the refrigerator and let sit at room temperature for 3 hours. The dough should be supple and expanded, but not bubbly.
  • Set an oven rack 6-8 inches beneath the broiler for a gas oven or 4-6 inches for an electric oven. Set a cast iron pan on the rack. Preheat the oven to its highest temperature for 45-60 minutes.
  • Dust a clean surface with pizza flour. Working with one dough portion at a time, gently press the dough out to a round, keeping the edge a bit thicker than the center to form a crust. Transfer the dough to the back of your hands and stretch to your desired size. Transfer the dough to a pizza peel dusted with semolina flour.
  • Carefully remove the heated cast iron skillet from the oven.
  • Slide the dough from the pizza peel into the pan. Quickly top with the crushed tomatoes, mozzarella, sausage, and basil.
  • Cook the pizza in the oven until the crust puffs, browns, and chars in spots, 5-7 minutes, rotating the pan as needed. Broil for the last minute to brown the mozzarella.
  • Transfer the pizza to a cutting board. Brush the crust with olive oil and sprinkle the pizza with flaky salt.
  • Slice and serve.
  • Enjoy!
