Yield 1 potato

Number Of Ingredients 3

baking potatoes
salt
olive oil

Steps:

  • Choose your potatoes for baking. The best potatoes for baking are russet potatoes. The potatoes should be of the same size and free of blemishes. 2 Wash the potatoes well under running water using a vegetable scrubber brush. Pat the potatoes dry before baking or allow to air dry. 3 Make several small incisions in potatoes with a knife. This is important. Failing to do this will result in steam building up inside the potatoes, which will cause them to explode into a mess. 4 Rub oil or butter lightly all over each potato. Then roll each potato in a little salt. This will make the skins delicious. 5 Place potatoes directly on the convection oven rack. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes for medium to large potatoes. Turn potatoes over halfway through the baking time to ensure even crispness and avoid darkening on one side. 6 Remove from oven when baking time ends and cut or squish top of potato open. Garnish with desired condiments, sauces, butter, sour cream or spices.
