APPLE PECAN CRUNCH image

6 fuji apples, peeled, sliced
3 tablespoons butter, divided
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup pecans
4 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350. Place 1 tablespoon butter in oven proof pan, saute apples over medium low heat for 15 minutes, turning occasionally. The apples should be just beginning to soften. While apples are cooking, add pecans and sugar to the food processor, pulse 20-30 times, set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine oats, salt, cinnamon. Add nut mixture to oats. Stir in remaining butter until all ingredients are combined. Mixture should be crumbly. Spoon oat mixture over apples, bake at 350 for 20 minutes until oats are lightly browned.
