Any Fruit Cobbler-In a Hurry image

This is yet another great recipe from my Mother-in-Law whose baking and entertaining in a small farming community is renowned.

Number Of Ingredients 12

3/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup milk
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
5 cups fruit
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup boiling water

Steps:

  • Mix together the sugar, butter, milk, flour baking powder, and salt. Form a ball and set aside.
  • In the bottom of the pan add as much or little of any kind of fruit you like.
  • Put dough {dough will seem more like a batter} on top of fruit without rolling it out.
  • Combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and salt.
  • Put over unbaked batter and cobbler.
  • Pour the 1 cup boiling water over unbaked cobbler.
  • Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes.
  • Entire recipe can be doubled.
