American Chop Suey image

This is a classic, quick and easy pasta dish that I have made forever. I do play with ingredients as far as adding mushrooms, diced tomatoes and grated carrots in addition to switch it up a bit and I may play with seasoning as well (I do add a little curry sometimes!) Make it your own and enjoy!

2 tablespoon(s) olive oil
1 large green pepper (rough chop)
1 medium onion (rough chop)
2 clove(s) garlic (minced)
1 pound(s) ground beef
1 jar(s) favorite tomato sauce (i use victoria's marinara)
1 can(s) cambell's tomato soup
2 tablespoon(s) tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon(s) oregano (dried)
1/2 teaspoon(s) basil (dried)
1/2 teaspoon(s) crushed red pepper (optional)
- salt & pepper (to taste)
1 box(es) pasta (i use cavatappi)

Steps:

  • 1) Sauté peppers and onions in olive oil over medium heat. When Onions are tender, add garlic. Cook for a few minutes until garlic is fragrant. Set aside.

  • 3) While browning meat, bring pot of water to a boil with salt and a little olive oil.
