'1905' Salad image

I needed a salad recipe to feed a crowd - this worked just great!

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 - head iceberg lettuce
3 or 4 - ripe tomatoes, cut in eighths
1 cup(s) swiss cheese, cut in julienne strips
1 cup(s) ham, cut in julienne strips, or turkey or shrimp
1/2 cup(s) green spanish olives, pitted
4 teaspoon(s) grated romano cheese
1/4 cup(s) white wine vinegar
1 cup(s) extra-virgin spanish olive oil
8 clove(s) garlic, minced
2 teaspoon(s) worcestershire sauce
- salt and pepper to taste
2 teaspoon(s) oregano, dried
4 teaspoon(s) lemon juice

Steps:

  • Toss all salad ingredients in a bowl, except Romano Cheese.
  • Mix garlic, oregano, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. Beat until smooth with a wire wisk. Add olive oil, gradually beating to form an emulsion. Stir in vinegar and lemon juice and season with salt and pepper.
  • Add dressing to salad and toss well. Add Romano cheese and toss one more time.
